October 2008
October has been an eventful month for us. Melanie is playing soccer (and loves it), both of our girls are still doing gymnastics, we've attended numerous birthday parties, had preschool twice a week, and are now visiting Grandma and Grandpa Pizza in Ohio. We came up to Ohio last Friday. Chris met us in Dayton, and we stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge in Cincinnati for 2 nights while he was with us. That was a really good time. The girls had a blast at the indoor waterpark there, but there were lots of other activities to keep us busy there too. King's Island (theme park) is right next door to the Great Wolf Lodge, so we went there one day and met our friends, Heather and Fred Balser, and their kids. That gave Chris and I the opportunity to ride some of the roller coasters, which it seemed like forever since we had ridden on. What a thrill! I was pretty worried at first, but they really were fun. The girls enjoyed riding the rides in the Kiddie Land too. It was such a great day to go there...there were virtually no lines anywhere, so we could ride anything we wanted without waiting.
Unfortunately Chris had to return to Fort Belvoir after just a few short days with us. So he has gone back and the girls and I are still in Dayton with Grandma and Grandpa, until Friday. Since Chris left, we have played with cousin Erik, visited a pumpkin patch, played with the Balser kids, and last night, Grandpa helped Melanie and Morgan carve Jack-O-Lanterns.
